- A la suite de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, l’ingénieur Willy Messerschmitt, fameux constructeur d’avions, s’orienta vers l’industrie automobile. Il fit pour cela appel à l’ingénieur Fritz Fend qui avait commercialisé des véhicules légers destinés aux personnes handicapées.
- La Messerschmitt KR 175 pour Kabinenroller ou « scooter à cabine » de 175 cm3 fut présentée au Salon de Genève en 1953 et fit forte impression. Evoquant un fuselage d’avion, ce tricycle pouvait accueillir deux personnes en tandem. L’accès se faisait par une verrière de cockpit basculant sur le côté à l’image du chasseur ME 109.
- La mécanique monocylindre 2-temps était d’origine Sachs et la Messerschmitt gagnera en puissance en 1955 avec le montage d’un bloc de 191 cm3 produisant 9,5 ch accouplé à une boite de vitesses à 4 rapports. A la croisée des mondes de l’aviation, de la moto et de l’automobile, la Messerschmitt KR 200 est un véhicule atypique bénéficiant d’un capital sympathie hors du commun.
- Notre exemplaire intègre l’importante collection du propriétaire actuel en 2012. Il est aujourd’hui dans un très bel état général, avec ce qu’il faut de patine pour la rendre attachante ! Derrière le « volant », impossible de ne pas arborer un sourire gargantuesque…

- Following the Second World War, engineer Willy Messerschmitt, the famous aircraft manufacturer, turned his attention to the automotive industry. To do so, he called on engineer Fritz Fend, who had marketed light vehicles for people with disabilities.
- The Messerschmitt KR 175, or Kabinenroller (‘cabin scooter’), with a 175 cc engine, was unveiled at the 1953 Geneva Motor Show and made a big impression. Resembling an aeroplane fuselage, this three-wheeled vehicle could carry two people in tandem. Access was via a cockpit canopy that tilted to the side, similar to the ME 109 fighter plane.
- The single-cylinder two-stroke engine was originally made by Sachs, and the Messerschmitt gained power in 1955 with the installation of a 191 cc engine producing 9.5 horsepower, coupled with a 4-speed gearbox. At the crossroads of the worlds of aviation, motorcycles and cars, the Messerschmitt KR 200 is an atypical vehicle that enjoys extraordinary popularity.
